As information on trips often arrives at short notice and between newsletters, we offer the possibility for all those interested in a suggested trip to sign up to the mailing list. This will guarantee that information is disseminated as quickly as possible, in order for participants to plan in good time. For this extra service, please complete and submit the electronic form.

This trip, organised by our partners in India, will retrace some of the trip I took last year, focussed on Central India and the Deccan Plateau, with visits to Lonar, Ajanta and Ellora already in the programme. Participants will also have the opportunity to see Delhi and visit Agra and the Taj Mahal. Details to follow later. Price: ca. Euro 1’500.-, including flight. This covers accommodation, transport and some meals. Booking open. Early bookings ensure reservations on the trains. Contact: annette.kimmich@bluewin.ch for information.

25-28 May 2007: BO's Whit Weekend

As in other years, the BO extends an invitation to spend a weekend in the Aare Valley, Switzerland. Two trips will be organised and there will be plenty of time for socialising. Those interested should mail annette.kimmich@bluewin.ch to book

3-10 June 2007: Croatian Kaleidoscope

Dr. Jasenka Sremac from Zagreb, will be introducing us to the geology of her country, including an area where she is currently conducting research. The programme will also give us an opportunity to learn something of the history and to interact with local people. See programme and booking form.

NON-OUGSME EVENTS

Please note, although OUGSME recommends these trips, we do not organise them. For details, please contact the organiser directly.

Main OUGS Events:

18 — 20 August 2007: Symposium, Lancaster University.

Any member of any branch can attend any event of any branch. For a list of all available OUGS events consult the Events Diary in the latest OUGS Newsletter or click on to www.ougs.org. Each person attending field meetings does so on the understanding that they attend at their own risk. The OUGS has Public Liability Insurance Cover for field and indoor meetings but Personal Accident cover and Personal Liability cover remain the responsibility of participants. Members with house insurance will probably find this included. Members should also note that they will be required to take out appropriate travel insurance for any overseas events; an annual travel insurance may be the best form of cover for any member who regularly attends field events.
